![]() Now - you can animate the folder this way. I even closed the file and reopened the file and the pivot center was maintained. Select just the Group Folder - go to TOOLS - select "Coord System" - click on the button that says "Center Pivot Point" - TADA - Now your pivot for the folder is set to the absolute center of your group. (Yes, this creates the origin of the folder at ) Select all items you wish to place into a separate group & place them into a new group folder. Hey there Swizl - I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but I did some tests and this seems to get someplace close to what your after. If that doesn't make any sense, the local origin (center) is exactly what I would expect for a group pivot to default to: I'm attaching an image of a scene I made before to Illustrate this problem. Now that I'm doing some animations it's even more of a mess to deal with. I've just dealt with the group origins being all over the place until now because most of the scenes I was working on were still shots. The coordinate system / pivot tools have no effect on a folder at all. I wish the default behavior would be to have the center/pivot of the group be at the local center of the group, or at least make it an option to work that way. Or I would have to create an empty folder and then move it to where the supposed center of my group is, which is really cumbersome IMO. So I would have to create every object that I want to make at the global center for the center of my group to be where I want it. Honestly it's one of the things I dislike the most about using C3d and is counterintuitive to me. Well I quit using anything to do with transforms on folders a long time ago as anytime you group anything, the origin is set to the Global Center. It ended up being easy to do in iMovie 10 after spending a few hours researching and trying all those other apps. I'm sure that the Node Editors are really powerful, but seems to have a steeper learning curve. ![]() For the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to node together the two tracks. Then I tried Blender, but never could get the PNG movie to load. I downloaded Balckmagic's Fusion 8 (node editor) and it just kept crashing every time I started to load it. Most of the ones I found use Nodes instead of being layer based. I was having a hard time finding a free compositor that would let me do that. The one on top was rendered with a transparent background. Incidentally a few days ago I was looking for something I could use to composite together two animations rendered from C3d. My main interest is mechanical animations (exploded view type of stuff). Ah ok thanks for letting me know! I've only tried the demo out on some of the other 3d apps, so of course didn't play with any of the more in depth features.
